He was born on March 17, 1974 and a popular television newscaster, host and radio announcer. Paolo Bediones, actually started his career as a commercial model and later evolved into TV hosting. His first major TV break was in “GMA’s Extra Challenge,” and “Survivor Philippines,” and currently, he continues to be a TV host and a Newscaster on TV5. He officially announced in a press conference that he agreed to sign a three-year contract with TV5 on December 3, 2009. He was an actor but later decided to become a journalist. The former beauty queen named Abby Cruz was his ex-girlfriend. He had three sisters and his late grandfather was the late Maximo Bediones. He is now a self-professed born-again Christian and plays the keyboards and guitar in the church he is attending at New Life Christian Center located at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Paolo Bediones used to be a TV host in the MTV Philippines ‘Para Bos.” Other shows he had hosted included: “Channel S,” “Gameplan,” “Digital LG Challenge,” “Extra, Extra Challenge,” “ETChing,”, “S-Files,” “Mornings at GMA,” “Whammy, Push Your Luck,” “Unang Hirit,” “Tok, Tok, Tok, Isang Milyon Pasok,” “Pinoy Meets World,” and “Survivor Philippines, Season 1 and 2,” on GMA 7 and “Sapul sa Singko,” on TV5.
In “Via Crucis,” of 2003, he displayed his acting talent in this GMA Holy Week drama special, wherein he played as Jesus Christ. “Captain Barbell” was his biggest break in his acting career in the year 2006.
Paolo Bediones was given the opportunity to become a news anchor of TV5’s “Aksyon,” together with Cheryl Cosim and Erwin Tulfo. This was his first break as a newscaster for News 5. “USI: Under Special Investigation on TV5,” is a public affairs program which aired on Sunday nights at TV5, in which he was the main anchor. “Aksyon JournalisMO,” followed suit and “Pilipinas News,” replaced it and became Paolo’s third over-all news program. He then became a radio announcer on Radyo 5 92.3 News FM entitled “Sakto kay Paolo, Sakto (rin) kay Cheri,” which was later renamed “Trabaho Lang.”
Paolo Bediones reveals that his lovelife is not his priority right now because he is just afraid that he cannot give the time and the proper attention because of his very hectic schedule. He can’t even have a social life and was even diagnosed with a sleep disturbance disorder known as sleep apnea, a condition that deprives a full night’ rest for some people. Paolo also admits that his work ends at midnight, but he already set himself an ultimatum. For those interested to know his updates, he tells he will get married when he turns 40. And his criteria of a woman – age and height doesn’t matter as long as she is considerate enough to understand his career and schedules.
He doesn’t have any plans for his acting career and is better off doing broadcasting, news casting and anchoring above all. Paolo adds he had his own share of acting and that it is time to move on.
