Maria Rosario Aguila, or more popularly called “Yayo Aguila” in the Philippine showbiz industry was born on September 16, 1967 in Lucban, Quezon Province. Yayo began her career as a teen idol and she was introduced in the film “Bagets,” playing the character of Rose that talks about a bunch of teenagers and includes some of the stars like Aga Muhlach, Eula Valdez and William Martinez to name a few. This is where she and estranged husband William Martinez met, married and decided to migrate to the United States of America. They were blessed with two wonderful daughters. After 25 years of marriage, Yayo and William decided to end the marriage in 2010 but continued to be friends to date.
After staying for quite some time in America, the family decided to come back to the Philippines and Yayo made a comeback via the movie “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay” in the year 1998. A television series was then offered to her known as “G-Mik,” which also catered to teenagers as the primary market. Celebrity edition of the second season of the popular TV reality show “Pinoy Big Brother,” was one of the most celebrated show in which Yayo was one of the contestants. But because of the scandal and controversy her daughter Patrizia was experiencing, she decided to exit voluntarily from the show on her 71st day.
The decision to leave the show was partly because of Baron Geisler, who was the major reason for the case Patrizia filed against the court accusing him on acts of lasciviousness. He counteracted by also filing a perjury case against Yayo and Patrizia. This controversy was one of the celebrated showbiz gossips at that time. Today, Yayo Aguila is still a part of ABS-CBN and continues her showbiz career through different TV shows.
Yayo Aguila was also popular on the many television programs she was a part with like “Ngayon at kailanman” (2009) were she portrayed the role of Melissa, “A.S.A.P.” in 2008, “Maalaala Mo Kaya” in 2008, “Mansyon” in 2008, “Kung Fu Kids” in 2008, “My Girl” in 2008, “Utoy” in 2009, “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition” 2007, “Mga Mata ni Angelita” in 2007, “Daisy Siete” in 2006, “Love Spell” in 2006, “Komiks” in 2006, “Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko” in 2006, “Sugo” in 2005, “Mahiwagang Baul” in 2005, “Si Juanito at ang Duwende” in 2005, “Love to Love” in 2005, “Wish Upon A Jar” in 2005, “Twin Hearts” in 2003, “Ok Sha” in 1982, and “Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan” in 2001.
She was only 16 years old when she left her showbiz career and was pregnant with her first child. At this very young age, she had learned to face marital and family problems. She swears the experiences, struggles and hardships made her a real person and a seasoned woman who can handle situations and circumstances that are yet to come. Now at age 45, she has grown to be a wise and mature woman, contented and happy with her life and children.
