Enrique Gil, a Filipino actor and dancer is born Enrique Mari Gil on March 30, 1992 in Cebu City. He is the second son of Enrique Amadeo Gil Sr. and Barbara Anne Gil. Enrique has an older brother, Javy and a younger sister named Diandra Frances or Andie. He is a Cebuano with Spanish roots. Enrique finished his secondary education at the Manresa School located at Paranaque City. He took up Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at the San Beda College Alabang and only stayed there for a year.

In the summer of 2008, Enrique Gil decided to enroll in commercial modeling workshops and musical theater workshops conducted by Trumpets, a well-known dance group based in the Philippines. This was then the start of his acting career. He started to appear in TV commercials. Among his first commercials were of Lewis and Pearl. In the same year, Star Magic conducted auditions for a new batch of talents. It was through Audie Gemora that Gil came to know about the audition. Gil was among the talents sent to the audition. Luckily Gil got picked and was one of the twenty new talents of Star Magic Batch 16.

Enrique Gil is currently under the management of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic and also co-managed by STAGES Production Specialists Inc. His First television role was in the action-drama series Pieta where he played the character of Harold. Before Gil became a cast in Pieta, he appeared in I Love Betty La Fea as one of the Ecomodels. A year after casting in Pieta, Gil was chosen to cast in the sitcom George and Cecil and also become a cast in the indie film Pitas. A series of movies and TV series followed after.

In 2010, Enrique Gil played a role in the indie war film Diego and His Brothers. In April of 2010, Gil joined ASAP XV and appeared as one of Star Magic’s Gigger Boys, the newest all male Star Magic dance group. The following month, Gil co-starred in the teleserye Rosalka and played a role in the movie Till My Heartaches End. Gil got his first hosting job in the teen variety show Shoutout which aired on ABS-CBN but a year later Gil was no longer a host of the show but as a regular performer. The show was later on renamed to Shoutout!: Level Up and eventually cancelled due to poor ratings. He also appeared in an episode in Your Song and got his first break by casting in the 2011 remake of Mula Sa Puso and got a role for Good Vibes. Gil became famous for portraying the role of BJ in the teleserye Budoy and playing the role of Prince Jao/Dasho Jao in the hit teleserye Princess And I. Other movies that followed were The Reunion, Amorosa and The Strangers.
