Kristoffer Lou Ryan Agoncillo or otherwise known as Ryan Agoncillo was born on April 10, 1979 in Manila Philippines. He is a Filipino Film and TV actor, a model, a singer, TV presenter and a photographer. Ryan Agoncillo’s family belongs to the upper-middle class and thus has several privileges while growing up. He attended San Beda College in Alabang in his elementary and secondary days and finished a degree in Organizational Communication from De La Salle University in Manila. He is also fond of motor vehicles and has been engaged with drifting events in a Nissan Silvia sponsored by Adidas, Yellow Cab Pizza, Shell and Nexen Tire. Ryan is also a photographer who launched his first black and white coffee table book entitled Ploning – the Making in 2007. The book goes along well with the film Ploning. The book was a birthday gift to his wife. He married Judy Ann Santos on April 28, 2009 at San Juan de Nepomuceno Church in San Juan, Batangas, Philippines.
Ryan Agoncillo started as a model, appearing in billboards, TV commercials in magazine as early as 15. He has endorsed various products in telecommunications, brandy, food chains, bottled drinks and even mouthwash. He is also noted to be one of the original hosts of a morning show on GMA network, Mornings at GMA Network. He moved to GMA7 and was one of the co-hosts of Talk TV co-hosted with Janette McBride and now husband and wife Julius and Christine Babao. Among the TV shows he has hosted are Breakfast, Star in a Million and Y-Speak, a youth oriented talk show. He was awarded Best Talk Show host in 2005 from the said program which is till this date being aired on Studio 23. At present, he is actively co-hosting on the noontime show at GMA network Eat Bulaga and Talentadong Pinoy at TV5. He is now acclaimed as Aliw Award Hall of Famer for Best Male Emcee.
Ryan Agoncillo has also appeared as an actor in television shows and movies. He was most noted for the TV program Krystala playing as Judy Ann’s love interest. The first film he appeared in is Kutob followed by Kasal Kasali Kasalo, Ouija, Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo, My Kuya’s Wedding, Umaaraw, Umuulan, Iskul Bukol: 20 years After and My House Husband: Ikaw Na! In his years in the business he was able to be recognized through various awards and nominations. Among them are “Hall of Fame” Aliw Awards 2010 – Best Male Emcee, “Anak TV Seal Award” – 2010 with wife Judy Ann Santos, Winner – Best Talent Show Host – 2009 PMPC Star Awards for TV, Winner – Male Star Of The Night – 2009 MTRCB TV Awards, Winner – German Moreno Youth Achievement Award 2008 – FAMAS Awards Night 2008, Winner – Best Public Affairs Program Host “Y-Speak” – 2007 KBP Golden Dove Awards, Winner – Best Emcee- 2007, 2008 & 2009 Aliw Awards, Winner – Most Admired Male TV Personality – 2009 Anak TV Seal Awards, Nominated, -Best Actor for “Kasal…Kasali…Kasalo at FAMAS Awards 2006, Nominated – Best Supporting Actor for “Kutob” by FAP Awards 2006, Nominated – Best Actor (Pinakamahusay na Pangunahing Aktor) at the Gawad Urian Award 2007 and Outstanding Original Reality Competition Program Host – 8th ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards 2011.
