Aldred Marc Francisco Gatchalian was born on June 14, 1990 in Pasay City Philippines and is a well-known Filipino actor and singer by profession. He joined one of the biggest reality talent show in the Philippines entitled “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition,” after which he became a member of Star Magic Circle under ABS-CBN management. He was given the screen name Aldred Gatchalian.
Aldred graduated valedictorian from his high school and he can still clearly remember how his parents looked when he received his medal that fateful day. All his hardships and difficulties had disappeared the day he finished his secondary education. Aldred is currently taking up Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management at De la Salle –College of Saint Benilde instead of his original plan of Nursing degree. He believes that finishing his college course can help alleviate their situation and help her mother in supporting the family. His father is unfortunately jobless for some years now, and only his mother and grandmother helps them in their expenses.
He admits he hates his dad for not doing anything to help his mom support the family. And he doesn’t even lift a finger to help with household chores. Her mom told them that her father was more industrious during their boyfriend-girlfriend days to earn some money for their date. The family needs him to work and strive more for their living but instead, he does nothing but wait for his grandmother to help them and give money for their daily needs. He pities his mother who finds all means to support the three of them in their studies. That is the major reason he joined the reality show, to try his luck and maybe, if he is fortunate enough to win, he can support his mom and her siblings, and can study his dream course.
Aldred afer PBB had been busy with various guest appearances and TV shows. His movies included “Bente,” and “My Big Love,” where he played a role of the younger brother of Toni Gonzaga. His TV appearances include: “Wansapanataym: Wansapanaride,” “Angelito; Ang Bagong Yugto,” “Nasaan Ka Elisa,” “Maalaala Mo Kaya: Palengke,” “Sabel,” “Your Song Presents: Kim,” “Showtime,” “May Bukas Pa,” ‘Maynila,” “Iisa Pa Lamang,” “Shall We Dance,”Wheel of Fortune,” ‘Boy and Kris,” “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal,” “Love Spell,” “Crazy For You,””Wowowee,” “Rated K,” “ASAP,” “Pinoy Bingo night,” and “Pilipinas Game Ka Na Ba,” among others.
Aldred is happy that he had his own way of sharing his acting talents to the movie industry. He also hopes that one day he can fulfill his dreams of graduating from college. He is grateful that his work as an actor is one way he can help support his family now especially his mother. At his young age, Aldred learned the value of being responsible and how to handle life maturely.
He considers getting a nomination as Movie Supporting Actor of the Year in the 26th PMPC Star Awards for Movies in the film “Bente,” a cherished and memorable moment in his acting career.
