Christine Sotto Jacob-Sandejas, popularly known as Christine Jacob, is a well-known Filipino swimmer, TV and Movie personality, host and a newscaster. Born on April 30, 1967 to a Scottish American father Roger Jacob and TV host Rosemarie, she grew up in the United States and spent her elementary education there. In the year 1980, upon returning to the Philippines, Christine joined the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 1983 and won the competition. She also participated in the 1984 Summer Olympics. It was her aunt-writer who persuaded Christine to try her hosting skills in “Eat Bulaga,” which started in 1990 when the show was still in ABS-CBN. Christine was also news casting in PTV while doing “Eat Bulaga.” She had a brief relationship with one of the main host of the show, Vic Sotto. Christine then hosted in “Magandang Tanghali Bayan,” a rival show of ‘Eat Bulaga,” after her contract expired with TAPE, Inc.
Eventually, she took a break in her showbiz career when she got pregnant. Her husband was Francisco ‘Paco’ Sandejas. After four years of not being visible in the industry, she was given her own show entitled “Mobile Kusina,” under GMA management. It concluded in early 2007. Her family life was one of a happy and blissful one, a picture of a perfectionist and contented wife and mother, as seen in her angelic pretty face. Her first priority is really parenting and raising her children well, because she had always dreamt of being a stay at home and a hands-on mom. Her five children are Paolo, Gabby, Nina, Luis and Jaime are all properly raised with love and values, and the couple takes pride in these. Christine is a cool mom and says she’s not really a disciplinarian but rather quite lenient in handling the kids. She believes that it is much better that way. They all have simple bonding moments such as watching a movie once a week, or swimming in a private pool or resorts, or dining out.
When these kids are still babies, Christine Jacob is proud to say that they have all been breastfed. Even when they are out, Christine finds a place where she can just sit and breastfed her babies. She had no qualms about it even when they are in church or in malls or in any public places. She believes that it is God’s gift to women and children to experience that special gift. She is also keen to advise women to breastfeed their babies because it is the natural way to feed them. It is the inner joy that a mother feels when doing this act that makes it really worthwhile. There is that certain bond when you look at the eyes of your child while you are feeding him or her. Christine is a strong advocate for breastfeeding and hopes to share with women and mothers out there the importance of breastfeeding.
When she is not that busy with her showbiz commitments, she makes sure that she spends the time with her family. Christine is now at peace with herself and genuinely happy.
