Geneva Mendoza Cruz, popularly known as Geneva Cruz was born on April 2,1976. She belongs to the renowned family of Cruz in the entertainment industry. She is a cousin to Sheryl Cruz, Donna Cruz and Sunshine Cruz. She is also a niece ofTirso Cruz the III.Geneva Cruz married MTV VJ/DJ KC Monterobut are now separated. She has a son, now 15 years of age from a previous relationship, Paco Arespacochaga.
In 1989, Geneva started as a lead singer of the popular group Smokey Mountain, formed by Ryan Cayabyab from 1989 to 1995. Other members of the group include James Coronel, Jeffrey Hidalgo, and Tony Lambino. It was also her first public exposure. The Smokey MountainAlbum gathered a double platinum award including her very first album, I Like You, also got a platinum award. Several hit singles from the album Smokey Mountain were loved by the public. Among the hit singles is the title track Anak ng Pasig from the movie of the same title from which Geneva appeared as a cast. The song Anak ng Pasig has also gained the Best Pop Song in the 1992 Catholic Mass Media Awards.
Geneva has a strong singing voice that even after the original members of Smokey Mountain went their own chosen career, she was able to survive her career in music as a solo performer. She too was taken as a commercial model to endorse various products on TV and billboard. She also joined various TV programs and appeared in some films.

She also had her share of several awards within her time in the industry of music and show business. Among them are Grand Prize Winner (Kazakhstan)- Voice of Asia in 1992, Catholic Mass Media Awards – Best song for Anak ng Pasig, Awit Awards- Smokey Mountain bagged 11 awards in 1990, Awit Award- Anak ng Pasig, Guillermo Memorial Awards and International Award in FAMAS in 2001.On 2012, Geneva Cruz signed a recording contract with GMA and is ready to move on to the next chapter of her life. Geneva is also a known vegetarian and an advocate for animal rights.
