Josephine “Yeng” Constantino was born December 4, 1988 and is a Filipina pop-rock singer and host. She won as “Grand Star Dreamer” of Pinoy Dream Academy, over ABS-CBN Network. Yeng as she is popularly called in the showbiz world is youngest among the Constantino siblings. Her sibling’s name was Donna, Jocelyn, Nano and Cookie, and her parents were Susan and Lito Constantino.
Yeng’s being the grand winner of Pinoy Dream Academy opened great doors for her as she was immediately launched a debut album entitled Salamat, which contained 10 songs, 7 of which are all Yengs original compositions. The album got the Gold Award in a matter of two weeks after its release and turned Platinum after a month. It became a three times Platinum Record after several months in the market.
In 2008, her second album was entitled ‘Journey” was eventually launched, and it has a carrier single “Ikaw Lang Talaga.” Because of the unsurpassable success of the two albums, a third album was digitally released on 2009 after it was pulled out because of some technical errors; the album also reached a Platinum award.
Her fifth studio album was entitled Metamorphosis, and was released on January 28, 2013, and its first single “B.A.B.A.Y.” was released commercially in January 2013.The second single was released on May24 entitled ‘Chinito,” and the third single “Sandata” was released on July 3, 2013.
Yeng was also endorsing different products such as Globe Telecom, Penshoppe, and Globe Asiatique. She had also received an award as a Favorite New Artist Nominee by Myx Music Awards 2007.
Yeng had officially announced that she is in a relationship with non-showbiz boyfriend Victor Asuncion. He used to be a member of a band but is currently working as a worship director at Victory Christian Church in Greenhills, Philippines. It was in June 18 that they became a couple. She prayed hard for this that God grants her prayer in His own sweet time and to a perfect person. It was worth the wait she says.
Her parents approve of him and they told her to just take it slow and easy. Yeng admits that the one thing she was attracted to him was because he was a God-fearing man like her. The surprising thing that they had discovered is that she is also Victor’s first girlfriend just like he was his first boyfriend.
They both are in the getting-to-know-you more stage yet, and since it is both their first time to be in a relationship, Yeng has admitted that they still need to learn more about each other.
Yeng is still busy with her singing career, guesting and hosting different events and shows. She hopes to improve more in her talent as a singer and writer, and continue her legacy in her chosen career. Yeng is hoping for a successful personal life, and is just so thankful for all the blessings God has been showering her. She only wishes that her relationship with her boyfriend will last longer and forever.
