Ethel Booba’s real name is Ethel Gabison, a popular Filipino TV and movie personality, a comedienne and a host. Ethel had also worked in the recording industry. She had worked under GMA Network and co-hosted “Extra Challenge.” Ethel had also appeared as a guest judge in “Kakaibang Idol,” a special edition of Philippine idol. She was born on December 17, 1976 in General Santos City, South Cotabato, Philippines and her mother’s name is Emy Gabison. Ethel has a sister named Emyrose ‘Boobita’ Gabison. She dreams to be a fashion designer if fate allows.
Her career started when she joined in one of the singing contest of ABC’s “Sing Galing,” but was not able to bag the grand title. After her stint in the contest, she was offered to work under GMA Network and she eventually signed a contract under its management. Ethel had also become one of the housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2, a reality search aired over ABS-CBN.
Ethel had her own stories to tell about her humble beginnings. The family is homeless and jobless, and she was the only one who had to take the responsibility to encourage each other to go on living. They used to sleep in closed eateries, and she just can’t believe that they had survived those struggles and hardships in their life.
It was at the age of 20 when she decided to work in Japan to help support the family. She had her own share of sacrifices and after a couple of years, she had finally built a house for her mother and sister, and she had the rare opportunity to join the showbiz world. Ethel gained instant popularity, and the stardom cost her too many controversies, with boyfriend and basketball player then, of whom she had a sex video scandal. She had even waged a word war between against her family in favor of her boyfriend.
Her current controversy involved host and actor Willie Revillame last March 5, 2013. She was then a co-host of the noontime show “Wowowillie,” but a shouting incident between Willie, Ate Gay and Ethel occurred in the dressing room of the show. She decided to leave and resign from the show and turned to social networking to voice her dismay and frustration over the said incident. She was quoted as tweeting that “honesty, trust, respect and communication’ are the major factors that make up a good relationship.
Lately, she is again involved in rumors connecting him to Mr. Fu. Although the two admitted to have a close relationship, and had been texting each other frequently, there are also rumors that they are beginning to be very intimate. Mr. Fu is said to be experimenting on intimacy these days and there are even other girls who are being linked to him. He revealed he is a gay but others think he is a bisexual. Ethel and Mr Fu were pretending and playing to be lovers, what are next still remains to be seen.
